ANNA, Ill. -- Mary Elizabeth Chamness, 76, of St. Louis, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Memorial Home nursing facility in St. Louis. She was born July 27, 1919, in Orland, Ind., daughter of William P. and Mara Dickinson Booth. She and Elmer E. "Tug" Chamness were married Dec. 27, 1945, in Angola, Ind. He died Oct. 10, 1995...

ANNA, Ill. -- Mary Elizabeth Chamness, 76, of St. Louis, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at Memorial Home nursing facility in St. Louis.

She was born July 27, 1919, in Orland, Ind., daughter of William P. and Mara Dickinson Booth. She and Elmer E. "Tug" Chamness were married Dec. 27, 1945, in Angola, Ind. He died Oct. 10, 1995.

Formerly of Anna, she was a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church and its women's association, and a member of the Sewing Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Raphael of St. Louis, Mara Kresser of Ft. Worth, Texas; a brother, Richard Booth of Florida, and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Steve Wilkinson will officiate, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville.

Friends may call Saturday at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to service time.
