TAMMS, Ill. -- Mary E. Dillow, 87, of Tamms passed away at 7:38 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Mary was born May 23, 1927, in Etherton Switch, Illinois, daughter of the late Hugh Brown and Margaret Ray Brown.

Mary was a member of the Tamms Community Church since 1947 where she served as the church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, church pianist and a member of the church choir. Mary was a member of the Tamms Senior Citizens; and was a member of the Camping Club. She was a retired bookkeeper.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ina Mae Rice; and a brother, Charles H. "Sonny" Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Van Howard Dillow of Tamms; three daughters, twins Karen Richards of Anna, Illinois, and Kay Ogborn of Cape Girardeau and Vicki (Tom) Keller of Anna; a son, Phil (Mary Ann) Dillow of Tamms; a brother, Dallas (Bonnie) Brown of Farmington, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Jean Brown of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren, Brent (Dawn) Dillow, Nacole Dillow, Ronnie Tucker, Amos (Candy) Tucker, Donnie (Kristie) Tucker, James (Tina) Hale, Gretchen (Jamie) Wendling, Greg (Jennifer) Keller, Jennifer (Shane) Osman, Tracy L. Rendleman, Michael S. Richards, Cary Lee Ogborn and Derek Shawn Ogborn; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a special friend, Louise Ogg of Unity, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the Tamms Community Church.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Guy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Mound City National Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the church or to St. Jude's Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 in memory of Mary E. Dillow.
