COAL CITY, Ill. -- Mary Claire Maguire Derr, 65, of Coal City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz.

She was born July 5, 1946, in Kankakee, Ill., daughter of Ellsworth "Pat" and Margaret Breen Maguire. She and Paul William Derr were married March 8, 1965, in Eureka, Ill.

Survivors include her husband, Paul of Coal City; four children, Kelly Derr of Gardner, Ill., Jeff (Rhonda) Derr of Godley, Ill., Brad (Lisa) Derr of Plainfield, Ill., Denise (Eric) Marler of Penn Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Harrison (Katie) Marler of Hawaii, Lauren (Ryan) Thomas of Chandler, Ariz., Olivia Marler of Penn Valley, Dakota and Daulton Derr of Plainfield, Ben and Grace Howell of Gardner; a brother, William (Lois) Maguire of Joliet, Ill.; and a sister, Martha (Gordon) Feeney of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary was a 1964 graduate of Reddick High School and a 1965 graduate of Cosmetology College in Champaign, Ill. She retired from Caterpillar Inc. in Joliet after 30 years of service.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, Ill., and from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Campus, Ill.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Ronald Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
