Mary Davenport

GRAVEL HILL, Mo. -- Mary Francis Davenport, 62, of Gravel Hill passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at her home.

She was born March 14, 1953, in St. Louis, daughter of Leslie F. and Margaret M. Teason Morgan. She and Vernon "Butch" Davenport were married Dec. 21, 1976.

Mary loved her flowers and all her animals. She was of the Church of Christ belief. Mary had worked for Venture department store in Cape Girardeau and Knollcrest Orchard near Gravel Hill.

Loving survivors include her husband, Vernon of over 38 years; two sons, Leroy E. Hiett of Gravel Hill and Michael G. Hiett of Pocahontas; two grandchildren, Morgan D. Hiett and Mason T. Hiett; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Spray of Arnold, Missouri, Ladine Gately and Glenda Adams of Marble Hill, Missouri.

Also surviving are a sister, an aunt, an uncle and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Leslie officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
