MARY BRANTLEY

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Mary Brantley of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Larry Smith and Martin Lucas will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Brantley, 94, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 31, 1902, in the Dogwood community, daughter of James Jacob and Effie Jane Wilburn Shelby. She married Shellie Coleman Brantley Aug. 15, 1920. He died Sept. 1, 1966.

Brantley was a member of First Church of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Effie Presson of East Prairie; a brother, Cecil Shelby of Sikeston; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
