MARBLE HILL -- Funeral for Mary Lou Ayers of Ste. Genevieve will be held at 2 p.m. today at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. W. Michael Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery at Ste. Genevieve.

Ayers, 89, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Ste. Genevieve County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 22, 1910, at Knob Lick, daughter of Patrick and Flora Marshall Acuff. She and Orville "Buss" Ayers were married Aug. 23, 1934, in Ste. Genevieve.

Formerly of Marble Hill, she was appointed Bollinger County librarian in 1956. She retired in 1983. Ayers was a member of First United Methodist Church, Victory Chapter 431 Order of Eastern Star, and charter member of the Historical Society, all in Marble Hill.

Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Virginia James of Marble Hill, Margaret Fast of Festus, and Velma Wallace of Ste. Genevieve.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
