GOREVILLE, Ill. -- Mary Kathleen Asbury, 72, of Goreville died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
She was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Johnson County, Ill., daughter of Hugh and Martha Gladys Billingsley Mighell.
Asbury received a bachelor of science degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She was an elementary teacher in Jonesboro, Ill., many years.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Buncombe, Ill., and former member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She was a member of Women's Missionary Union in both churches.
Survivors include two daughters, Carleta Miller of San Antonio, Phyllis Dawley of Anna, Ill.; a sister, Lodema Luporini of Goreville; a brother, the Rev. Robert Thomas of Copperas Cove, Texas; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, and noon to service time Tuesday at Mount Zion Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Jim Shipley, Michael Miller and Robert Mighell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
