ALLENVILLE, Mo. -- Mary Alice Amos, 72, of Vanduser, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 22, 1929, at East Prairie, Mo., daughter of Andrew and Essie Vance Spinks. She and Robert Junior Amos were married May 15, 1948. He died Feb. 8, 1985.
Amos retired as postmaster of Dutchtown Post Office in Dutchtown, Mo. She lived at Allenville 70 years, and was a member of Allenville Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Amos of Lafayette, Colo., Roger Amos of Vanduser; a daughter, Kathy Edwards of DeLand, Fla.; a brother, Elbert Spinks of Arnold, Mo.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo., after 5 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor, Mo.
