MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Mary Amanda Lutz, 87, of Mounds, Ill., formerly of Mound City, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1991 at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna, Ill.
She was born Aug. 12, 1904 at Slater in Ballard County, Ky. to Langer H. and Eliza Bell Duncan Ewers.
She was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Mound City, and served as church treasurer. She was a charter member of Mound City women's club, a charter member of Pulaski County Republican women's club, and a member of the Mounds BPW club.
She was a former employee McKesson Drug Co. in Cairo, Ill. She retired as a secretary for Pulaski Co. Sheriff's Department, where she had worked for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Bill Ewers; a sister, Virginia Deering; and a niece, Billie Jean Deering.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Ruth Harris of Riverside, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Kibort of Agoura Hill, Calif. and Katherine Fadum of Stockton, Calif.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at the Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill. Tom Ellison will officiate. Burial will follow in Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.
