Marvin Lewis Spencer, 51, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Oct. 5, 1963, in Chicago to Lee Edward Spencer Sr. and Geneva Holt Brown.
Marvin loved music. His favorites were R&B, hip-hop and jazz. He also loved playing basketball. He played on one of Central Junior High School's undefeated teams of the 1970s. A favorite pastime was playing games, such as chess and dominoes. Another favorite was going to movies.
Survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau; a son, Marvin Lewis Spencer II of Detroit; a brother, Lee Edward Spencer Jr. of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Martha Spencer of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Angela Brown of Cape Girardeau, Christine Cobb and Barbara Jean Cobb of Detroit and Bianca Cobb of Toledo, Ohio.
Friends may call from noon until service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Lee Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
