ADVANCE, Mo. -- Marvin Speer, 57, of Advance, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1943, at Columbia, Ill., son of Virgle and Geneva Hogue Speer. He and Emma Wood were married Oct. 25, 1996, at Marble Hill, Mo.
He worked as a construction superintendent for Penzel Construction Co. in Jackson, Mo. He served in the Army 182nd Airborne Division.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Todd Speer of High Ridge, Mo.; a daughter, Stacy Speer of Malden, Mo.; three sisters, Phyllis Salverson of Heath, Texas, Shirly Eggiman of Advance and Tammi Jackson of Dudley, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Scott Payne officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
