Marvin Charles "Shorty" Ruesler, 74, of Friedheim passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Friedheim, son of Walter and Lillian Hobeck Ruesler. He and Viola Pohlman were married Sept. 27, 1958.
Marvin attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. He worked at the former Florsheim Shoe in Cape Girardeau until he retired.
Loving survivors include his wife; three sons, Alan (Sally) Ruesler and Darryl Ruesler of Friedheim, David (Becky) Ruesler of Old Appleton; a daughter, Karen (Gene) Sachse of Oak Ridge; a sister, Nelda Sowell of Friedheim; a brother, Clemen "Butch" (Karen) Ruesler of Waterloo, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Geneva Ruesler of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darwin Ruesler.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Friedheim.
