CHAFFEE, Mo. — Marvin Vernon Lagrand, 79, of Chaffee died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 1, 1929, at Painton, Mo., son of William and Winnie Barker Lagrand. He and Kathleen Elfrank were married Feb. 25, 1956.
Lagrand had been self-employed in construction. He was a member of General Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his son and grandson collecting and enjoying model trains.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, J.W. "Joe" (Deb) Lagrand of Delta; a daughter, Pam (Kevin) Davault of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Faye Heath of Chaffee; and a grandson, Garrett Davault of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery with military honors by Missouri Honors Program.
