Marvin L. Fitzpatrick, 79, of 1509 Jane Street in Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 6, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Lesterville, the son of Charles and Lottie Sizemore Fitzpatrick. On July 18, 1937, he married the former Enid Bernice Rickard at Chaffee. She preceded him in death Oct. 25, 1992.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He also was a member of the First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau; Masonic Triple Lodge #835 in Granite City, Ill.; and the Scottish Rites. He worked for 31 years as a foreman for Granite City Steel, retiring and moving to Cape Girardeau in 1976. He also worked at the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin "Rick" Fitzpatrick of St. Louis and James L. Fitzpatrick of Las Vegas, Nev., and two grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Leigh Earley and the Rev. Mary Earley will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
A Masonic service will be conducted today by St. Mark's Lodge at 6:30 p.m.
