Marvin H. Borgfield, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1919, near Fruitland, son of Henry G. and Wilhelmina Aufdenberg Borgfield. Borgfield attended May Green School, and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He had lived in Sterling, Ill., moving to Cape Girardeau in 1979. He had worked at Lawrence Brothers manufacturing company in Sterling many years...

Marvin H. Borgfield, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 11, 1919, near Fruitland, son of Henry G. and Wilhelmina Aufdenberg Borgfield.

Borgfield attended May Green School, and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He had lived in Sterling, Ill., moving to Cape Girardeau in 1979. He had worked at Lawrence Brothers manufacturing company in Sterling many years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau; and American Legion in Sterling. Borgfield worked with Boy Scouts many years, particularly Pack 8 at Trinity Church, Shawnee District and Southeast Missouri Council.

Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Ramey of Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
