Martin J. Scharenborg, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2012, at his home. He was born May 2, 1939, at Laflin, Mo., to John George and Francis Adeline Vangennip Scharenborg. Martin J. Scharenborg, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2012, at his home.

He was born May 2, 1939, at Laflin, Mo., to John George and Francis Adeline Vangennip Scharenborg. He and Connie K. Kester married June 2, 1962, at Cape Girardeau.

Martin worked for Bunny Bread Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Survivors include his wife, Connie K. Scharenborg of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Octavia Scharenborg of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Eleanor Scharenborg and Francis Scharenborg, both of Jackson, and Mary Schuermann of St. Louis; and three brothers, Everett Scharenborg, John Scharenborg and Joe Scharenborg, all of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Services will be held at a later date at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hobbs Chapel Cemetery Fund.
