Martin William August Loos, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born April 9, 1907, in Jackson, son of Conrad and Anna Bock Loos. He and Helen Schuppan were married Dec. 8, 1940, at New Wells.
Loos was employed by Excelsior Furniture Co. 10 years, started the Uregas Distribution Co. and operated it 32 years.
He was a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Cape Girardeau Jaycees, had been a member of Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club, served on the SEMO District Fair Board 33 years, served on the State LP Gas Board, and served on the Lutheran Home Board of Directors more than 15 years. He attended Cape Girardeau Business College.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Darrell Loos of Athens, Ohio, Donald Loos of Angola, N.Y.; two daughters, Barbara Berry of Phoenix, Ariz., Darlene Cowan of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Henry and Clarence Loos of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Church, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
