Martin J. Schwab, 91, of St. Louis and formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1992, in St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 1, 1901, in rural Cape Girardeau, the son of Jacob and Bertha Milde Schwab. In 1924, he married Rowena Rhyne, who preceded him in death in 1987.
He was a self-employed mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita Dresser of Newport, Vt.; a sister, Anna Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kassly Colonial Mortuary in Fairview Heights, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
