Martin Funke

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Martin H. "Max" Funke, 98, of Perryville died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 6, 1906, at Longtown, Mo., son of Michael Gustav and Barbara Louise Springer Funke.

Funke was a postal worker in St. Louis until moving back to Longtown, and then was custodian at Zion Lutheran Church. He was a lifetime member of Zion Church.

Survivors include a brother, Julian Funke of Overland Park, Kan., and a sister, Lenola Kohlmann of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Longtown.
