Martin Carlino

Martin Paul Carlino, 94, of Apache Junction, Arizona, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Jackson.

He was born Jan. 17, 1928 in Chicago to Phillip and Madeline Manzella Carlino. He and Arlene D. Carlino were married in 1952 in Chicago.

Marty was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was a World War II veteran, who served in the Philippines. Upon returning home, he worked in construction and drove a semi-truck for Murphy Miles and Roundy's Foods. He has been retired in Arizona for almost 36 years.

He was a sportsman who enjoyed camping, archery, fishing and hunting. In Arizona, he volunteered with the sheriff's department in both Pinal and Maricopa counties as part of their posse. He was a certified marksman for both departments.

Marty restored WWII Jeeps. He loved horses his entire life and participated in penning and sorting into his 80s.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Lee (William) Kiel of Jackson; son, Michael P. (Melody) Carlino of Monticello, Wisconsin; sister, Gloria (Thomas) Moore; five grandchildren, Timothy Kiel, Anthony Kiel, Andrew Kiel, Skylar Carlino and Lucas Carlino; and two great-grandchildren, Aspen Kiel and Bayden Kiel.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Madeline Carlino; wife, Arlene D. Carlino; and daughter, Antoinette Carlino.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctors Park, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
