Martha Thornhill

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Martha Della Thornhill, 86, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Marble Hill, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Medina Nursing Home in Medina, Ill.

She was born Jan. 1, 1921, at Carbon Hill, Ala., daughter of Alonzo and Ida Wright Herron. She and Freemont Thornhill were married. He died April 25, 1989.

Thornhill was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in St. Charles, Ill.

Survivors include a son, J.C. Ford of Berry, Ala.; two daughters, Louise Parrish of Rockford, Ill., and Merlene Williamson of Berry; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Phillip Jordan officiating.

Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery at Marble Hill.
