Martha Mae "Honey" Purl, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at her home.
She was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Luxora, Ark., daughter of Arthur Lee and Irene Presberry Harris. She and Ollie L. Purl were married in Cape Girardeau. He died Jan. 14, 1993.
Purl was a cook at Southeast Missouri State University, retiring in 1983. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Harris and Darcus Purl of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Carol Harris, Terrie and Denise Purl of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Pearlie Curry of Cape Girardeau, Minnie Wilson of Blue Island, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Bethel Church. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
