Martha Anne Keen, 66, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was born to James and Clara Shoemaker July 7, 1920, near Perkins, Mo. She married Earl Keen Dec. 24, 1941. Born to this union were four children.
Mrs. Keen was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, James.
Surviving are children Gary and Betty Keen of Oklahoma City, Jerry Glen and Shirley Keen of Tulsa, Okla., Charles and Bertha Keen of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Phil and Rose Hall of Ozark, Mo.; four sisters, Dortha Halter of Chaffee, Mo., Betty West of Abingdon, Ill., Rose Anders of St. Louis, Lillian Merrick of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, William of Percy, Ill., Tom of Perkins; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Keen spent most of her life in Ripley County, Mo. She was a wonderful homemaker and provider. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2000 to be near family and spent many happy hours caring for her flowers and talking to friends and family. She enjoyed quilting and keeping up with the lives of her grandchildren, her siblings and her church family. Mrs. Keen claimed the Lord as her Savior and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, Okla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice or the American Heart Society.
Service was held 10 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. Graveside service was held Tuesday at Wilson Cemetery in Doniphan, Mo.
Vondel Smith and Son South in Oklahoma City was in charge of arrangements.
