CHAFFEE -- Martha Janice Kay, 77, of Chaffee died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1921, at Hornbeak, Tenn., to Alvin and Fannie Ing Ashley.
She married Norman J. Kay on Oct. 16, 1941. He died May 29, 1977.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Daughters of St. Ambrose and the Scott County Health Board.
She is survived by two brothers, Jack W. Ashley of Madison, Tenn., and Jerry W. Ashley of Ashland, Ohio; and a half sister, Maurine Huffines of Nashville, Tenn.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with parish prayers at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
