MARTHA GOODSON

JACKSON -- Martha "Margaret" Goodson, 86, of Jackson died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Jackson, daughter of August Henry and Martha Ann Sneider Friedrich.

She married Willard Goodson April 16, 1933, in Jackson. He died Feb. 18, 1976.

She worked in the sewing department of the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Fruitland where she formerly taught Sunday School. She was also a former member of the Oak Ridge School PTA.

She is survived by two sons, Willard "David" Goodson and Frederick "Dean" Goodson, both of Jackson; a brother, George Friedrich of Jackson; a sister, Elsie Barrett of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call today from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David E. Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
