CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Memorial service for Martha Lou Boone of Butler, Mo., was held July 26 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Butler.
Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler was in charge of arrangements.
Boone, 70, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Feb. 22, 1930, at Fruitland, Mo., daughter of Wilson and Mildred Tant McDowell. She and Gene Boone were married Aug. 24, 1948.
Boone grew up in Charleston and was a 1948 graduate of Charleston High School.
She was a school secretary in St. Louis from 1957-77. The Boones moved to Butler in 1977 where they owned and operated Nelson Motel until 1996. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Butler.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth Boone of Butler; two daughters, Jean Mohrman of St. Charles, Mo., Gwen Loomis of Butler; two brothers, Byron and Kenneth McDowell of Charleston; a sister, Carolyn Burcks of Charleston; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
