BENTON, Mo. -- Martha C. Beck, 79, of Benton died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Delta South Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
She was born June 24, 1940, in New Madrid, Missouri, to Jesse and Dorothy Estelle Moss Bledsoe. She married Bobby Beck, and he preceded her in death Oct. 13, 2003.
She was a seamstress at the Oran hat factory.
She is survived by a son, Jim (Darlene) Haines of Sikeston; daughter, Karen (Ken) Shackles of Cape Girardeau; three stepdaughters, Donna Jean Beck and Rhonda Kay Beck of Finley, Tennessee, and Judy Ann (Jerry) Jones of Tupelo, Mississippi; son-in-law, Bill Bingham of Magalia, California; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Emily and Adam Haines, Jackie and Joe Gibbs, Samantha Burns and Robin Rivas; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two brothers, John (Cindy) Bledsoe of Charleston, Missouri, and Jay (Faye) Bledsoe of Sikeston; four sisters, Alice (Don) Helmer of Apple Valley, California, Diana Chambers of Charleston, Debbie (Ken) Haney of Harrisburg, Illinois, and Lynne (Clifford) Barborek of Sikeston; an uncle, Howard "Bud" Moss of New Holland, Pennsylvania; and special friends, John and Deloma Penrose.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Martha Bingham; and a brother, Philip Bledsoe.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Bala Swami Govindu as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
