Marsha K. Davisson, 55, of Alamogordo, N.M., died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Alamogordo. She was born Oct. 11, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Alvester Baker and Melba Sander Smith. Marsha married John W. Davisson April 15, 1989, in Dexter, Mo. They returned to Alamogordo in 2003 where she enjoyed a career of five years at Community Christian School and Legacy Christian Academy. ...

Marsha K. Davisson, 55, of Alamogordo, N.M., died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Alamogordo.

She was born Oct. 11, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Alvester Baker and Melba Sander Smith. Marsha married John W. Davisson April 15, 1989, in Dexter, Mo.

They returned to Alamogordo in 2003 where she enjoyed a career of five years at Community Christian School and Legacy Christian Academy. She served in the library and held various other administrative positions. Her compassion and care for people will be greatly missed.

Marsha also leaves behind a daughter, Amy Sacha and husband Josiah of Cape Girardeau; a son, John Davisson Jr. of the home; four grandchildren, Chantelle Jackson, Juliette Rothley, Jacob and Zachariah Sacha; her parents, Alvester Baker and Melba Smith of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Sharon Lindsey of Sedgewickville, Mo., Patty Perry of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Richard Baker of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Judy Slaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Renee Baker, who passed away in 1973.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, with the Rev. Ed Stoner officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
