LOWNDES, Mo. -- Marlene Helen Schanks, 68, of Lowndes passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at her home. She was born April 24, 1943, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of Lonnie and Mildred Tucker Mayberry. LOWNDES, Mo. -- Marlene Helen Schanks, 68, of Lowndes passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at her home.

She was born April 24, 1943, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of Lonnie and Mildred Tucker Mayberry.

Marlene was a registered nurse, and worked at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Mo., more than 38 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Greenville, Mo.

Marlene and Billy Joe Schanks were married July 27, 1964, in Carrollton, Ill.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bradley Schanks of St. Charles; a daughter, Terri Schanks of St. Louis; three brothers, Jim Mayberry of Bloomfield, Mo., Roger and Bob Mayberry of Zalma, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Koyle of Zalma, Barbara Neidner of Eolia, Mo., Brenda Lineberry of O'Fallon, Mo., Micky Bailey of Puxico, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Nick and Danny Schanks.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Mayberry.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Matson officiating. Burial will be in Clubb Cemetery near Zalma.
