Marlene A. Miller, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Cleveland, to Rudolph George and Margaret Alberta Schmidt Miller.
Marlene lived in Cape Girardeau 35 years. She retired from Southeast Missouri State University as an associate professor in the Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister, Noel (John) Shilling of Carmel, Indiana; a brother, Rudolph (Kate) Miller of Norfolk, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Anne Brodsky, Alison Niles, Andrew Shilling and Rebecca Smalley; and special longtime friend, Cindy Murdock of Bonne Terre, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
A memorial service will be at a later date in Cape Girardeau.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to Cape Girardeau Public Library or to a library of your choice because of Marlene's love of reading.
