UNION, Mo. -- Marla Green, 62, of Union passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Enos and Eileen Morningstar Browning. She and Richard Green were married Nov. 9, 1968, in St. Clair County, Ill.
Marla was a talented artist designing paintings, decorating and crafts. She performed throughout the country as a singer with the Browning Family Gospel Singers based out of Southern Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enos and Eileen Browning; and a sister, Janet Parish.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Green of Union; a daughter, Myla Ashby and husband Scott of St. Clair, Mo.; a sister, Brenda Stephens and husband John of Moore, Okla.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashby and Lauren Ashby; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Midlawn Funeral Home in Union, with Bill Savage officiating.
Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred.
