Mark Leroy Johnson, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Feb. 9, 1957, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Leroy and Charlene Harrison Johnson.

Mark graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in education in 1979. He taught history at Delta High School for 11 years and retired in 2014 from the U.S. Postal Service after working in Cape Girardeau and Kansas City, Missouri. He was a substitute teacher at Cape Schools after his retirement.

He and Laura Ann Cagle were married Nov. 4, 1995, in Cape Girardeau.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Survivors include wife, Laura Ann Johnson of Cape Girardeau; son, Clark (Torie) Johnson of Chaffee, Missouri; stepdaughter, Mysti (Buck) Nunn of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Tony (Julie) Tarrants of Cape Girardeau and Scott Tarrants of Sikeston, Missouri; brother, Chuck (Tara) Johnson of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren; seven nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Burial will be at Matthews City Cemetery in Matthews, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice.
