Mark Hill
Mark Allen Hill, 56, of Frisco, Texas, died following an extended illness Thursday, May 14, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Hill was born Nov. 13, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of John L. and Virginia Hill.
Mark and Lisa Stone Hill were married June 6, 1975, in Cape Girardeau.
Hill was a 1972 graduate of Central High School and a 1976 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Business fraternity. Hill had been involved in the travel industry and was owner of Destinations Unlimited Travel from 1989 until relocating to Frisco in 2005. Mark continued to serve his client's travel needs working with Rob Nelson of Nelson Travel Consultants.
While in Cape Girardeau, Hill was involved in numerous community affairs including serving as president of the Southeast Alumni Association. Hill was very active in the Frisco Rotary Club, serving as sergeant-at-arms. He was also an involved member of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, as well as a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he sang in the choir.
Loving survivors include his wife of 33 years, Lisa; a daughter, Kyla Porter (Christopher) of Frisco; a son, Cody M. Hill of Dallas; two granddaughters, Ava Marie Porter and Isabella Mae Porter. Hill is also survived by his father, John L. Hill and a brother, John (Trea) Hill.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Ann (Jungers) Hill.
In his usual generous manner, Hill has willed his body to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for research. A celebration of his life will take place in Cape Girardeau at a later date.
