VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Mark Hannah Ashworth, 69, of Olive Branch, formerly of Mound City, died at his home Friday Nov. 3, 1995.
He was born Feb. 6, 1926, at Mound City, son of Mark Hannah Ashworth Sr. and Ruby Lee Haws Ashworth.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked as a deck-hand on a tow boat.
Survivors include three sons, Mark H. Ashworth III of Anna, Marrow Ashworth of Cape Girardeau and William Ashworth of Mounds; two daughters, Ruby Parker of Mound City and Nancy Stewart of Sedalia; a stepmother, Ruth Holder of Olive Branch; three half-brothers, Henry H. Ashworth of Olive Branch, Billy Ashworth of Cairo and Ronnie Ashworth of East Cape; two half-sisters, Pat Steele of Jackskonville, Ill., and Freda Martin of Stoutland; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery at Mound City with the Rev. Tony Ashworth officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery.
Jones Funeral Home, Villa Ridge, is in charge of arrangements.
There is no visitation.
