POPLAR BLUFF -- Funeral service for Marjorie Davault Summers of Poplar Bluff was held Wednesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Gilbert officiated, with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Cotrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Summers, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 1994, at her home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 17, 1914, at Glen Allen. She and Clinton R. Summers were married Nov. 26, 1936, in Cape Girardeau.

Summers taught school four years at Delta, and 27 years at Kinyon Elementary School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ron and Karen Lomax Mission Group, and taught Sunday School 50 years. Summers was a member of PEO Chapter KB, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Green Thumb Garden Club, and Democratic Women.

Summers was a charter member of SEMO Foundation Executive Committee, Copper Dome Executive Committee, Monday Study Club and United Way Executive Committee.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Clinton Summers of Poplar Bluff, William Summers of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, William Davault of Jackson, George Davault of Richmond; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
