Marjorie Jean Simpson, 85, of Old Appleton died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Sandoval, Ill., to Clarence and Gertrude Goodwin Bowen.
She and Morris R. Simpson were married Nov. 29, 1945, at Centralia, Ill. He preceded her in death July 20, 1997.
She attended Oak Ridge Methodist Church. Marjorie loved her flowers and working in her yard.
Survivors include a son, Thomas R. (Ellie) Simpson of Weaverville, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia A. Kurt of St. Joe, Ark., and Janet (Tommy) King of Ferguson, Mo.; four grandchildren, James King, Robert Kurth, Daniel Kurth and Beth Bergesch; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers; three sisters; and a son-in-law, Robert Kurth.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rodger Rice officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
