PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marjorie L. Mills, 89, of Perryville passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2014.
She was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Martin and Alama Clippard Van Doren. She and Robert A. Mills were married Aug. 25, 1945.
Marjorie was a cadet nurse during World War II at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
She was a 25-year employee at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the Perry County Historical Society.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Prost of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; six children, Kathleen (Doug) Duke, Barbara Hornbeak, Maureen Mills, Patricia (Naren) Anadkat, Mary Jo (Craig) Schulte and Robert Terrence Mills.
Also 13 grandchildren, Beth Guemmer, Jim and David Brown, Ashley Johnson, Sean and John Erwin, Erin Schwartz, Tara Rhine, Anna Pew, Andy, Cory and John Schulte and Melissa Pingel; eight great-grandchildren, Blake Brown, Jake Balsman, Jared Guemmer, Jack Connor Johnson, Alec, Elaina, Jayce and Jenna Pingel and Abram Pew; and five great-great-grandchildren, Trenton and Zoie Brown, Trenton, Brock and Mason Balsman.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Joe and Charles; a sister, Ruth Hart; and a son, Robert Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Gathering Space of St. Vincent de Paul Church. The parish wake will be at 7 p.m.
Burial will be private.
Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Endowment Fund.
