SIKESTON -- Marjorie Thomas Lemmons, 68, of Sikeston Route 1, died Thursday, June 16, 1994 at her residence.

She was born July 9, 1925 in Arcadia, Fla., daughter of William A. and Hester A. Hickerson Thomas.

She had been a resident of the Sikeston area since 1946, moving from Bradenton, Fla.

She was an active member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ. She serves as a teacher and band director at SEMO Christian Academy for several years. She was also a volunteer for Reach for Recovery.

On March 3, 1944 in Tampa, Fla., she married C.G. Lemmons. He survives.

She is also survived by two sons, Glenn Lemmons, Sikeston, Thomas Lemmons, Abilene, Texas; one daughter, Gay Lemmons Hargrove, Cookeville, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Clarence Dailey, minister of Brentwood Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn., officiating. He will be assisted by her son, Thomas Lemmons. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday.
