JACKSON -- Marjorie F. Kester, 67, of 119 N. Bast in Jackson died Friday, March 17, 1995, at her daughter's home in Columbia after a lengthy illness. She was born March 1, 1928, at International Falls, Minn., the daughter of Leon and Charlette Kiever Johnson. On Jan. 11, 1947, she married Alfred J. Kester, who preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1974...

JACKSON -- Marjorie F. Kester, 67, of 119 N. Bast in Jackson died Friday, March 17, 1995, at her daughter's home in Columbia after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 1, 1928, at International Falls, Minn., the daughter of Leon and Charlette Kiever Johnson. On Jan. 11, 1947, she married Alfred J. Kester, who preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1974.

Survivors include a son, Joe Kester of California; a daughter, Jane Koppenaal of Columbia; three brothers, Robert, James and Gary Johnson, all of Littlefork, Minn.; six sisters, Dorothy Olson of Brooten, Minn., Norma Nelson and Sharon Obermier of Littlefork, Minn., Betty Anderson of North Plains, Ore., Patricia Lassi of Babbitt, Minn., and Edith Peterson of Cook, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a brother.

Kester was a 1957 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a life member of Kappa Omicron Pi. She taught school at New London, Bloomfield, Oak Ridge and Jackson and later taught adult education classes until her retirement in 1978. She also farmed in the Oak Ridge and Friedhiem communities.

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. The Rev. Adam Mueller will officiate.
