Marjella Engert
Marjella Martha Engert, 85, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Frohna, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 23, 1923, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Leo and Lydia Hunt Wunderlich. She and Elmer Engert were married March 16, 1946. He died Nov. 26, 1987.
She was a retired Shoe Factory sewing machine operator.
Survivors include a son, Larry Engert of Perryville, Mo.; two daughters, Wanda Choate of Burfordville, Betty (David) DeRousse of Perryville; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Williams, Lisa Wendel, Brandi Dreyer, Michael Blackwell Jr., Dustin Blackwell, Sara Engert and Emily Engert; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg and American Legion Auxiliary, and was an avid bingo player.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Frances Yeager; and a brother, LeRoy Wunderlich.
Mrs. Engert will rest in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel. She will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg for service at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jonathan Stites will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for family use.
