Marion Tucker, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1927, in Reynoldsville, Ill., to Lawrence H. and Esther Winn Tucker. He and Thelma Ruth Beggs were married Oct. 4, 1952, at Thebes, Ill.
Marion served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad 35 years. He was a member of East Cape Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Ruth Tucker of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Ira Lynn Froggatt of Scott City, Tracy Marion Tucker of McClure, Ill., Ronnie Earl Tucker of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Phyllis Schwab of Jackson, Ruth Ann Baltzell of McClure; a brother, Merle Tucker of Virginia; a sister, Helen Oxford of McClure; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a daughter, Georgia Dianne Ward.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes, Ill.
