ADVANCE, Mo. -- Marion "Sis" Phillips, 80, of Advance, formerly of St. Louis, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 29, 1927, in St. Louis, daughter of Luther Johnson and Marion Dorothy Hesemann Embree. She and Eugene Phillips were married Feb. 14, 1946, in St. Louis. He died March 26, 1984.
Phillips was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Richmond, Mo.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Phillips of Cullman, Ala.; three daughters, Sharon Lacy and Patti Phillips of Advance, Cynthia Vassallo of Clinton Harrison Township, Mich.; three brothers, Paul Embree of Williamsburg, Mo., John Embree of St. Louis, James Embree of Orange, Va.; five sisters, Lavern Hatcher of Arnold, Mo., Judith Niswonger of St. Louis, Kathleen Hausf Stringer of Arnold, Juanita Lucy of St. Louis, Betty Bruening of Spanish Lake, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in St. Louis. The Rev. Eric Shrum will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
