Marion Hyson

Marion L. Hyson, 91, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at The Arbors at Capetown in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Whitewater, daughter of Walter D. and Bessie Ann Green Smith. She married Michael F. Hyson, the love of her life, on Jan. 7, 1956, in Cape Girardeau. He passed away Feb. 12, 2008.

Marion was a member at Whitewater United Methodist Church. She worked for Intercity Latex in Dover, Delaware, and International City Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, and retired from Concordia Publishing House in 1986. After living and working many years in St. Louis, Mike and Marion moved to Jackson after retirement.

Loving survivors include many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years of marriage and three brothers, Carson Smith, Jesse Smith and Walter Smith Jr.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donnie Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church or Southeast Missouri Pets.
