Marion F. Strickland, 79, of Florissant died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Mississippi County, son of Van and Willie Carmen Strickland. Marion F. Strickland, 79, of Florissant died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Mississippi County, son of Van and Willie Carmen Strickland. He married Hazel Shelby on Nov. 21, 1942. She survives.
He had been retired since 1977 and was a member of the Parker Road Baptist Church in Florissant.
He also is survived by two daughters, Linda Simon of Jefferson City and Joyce Strickland of Chicago; a son, Robert Strickland of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Van Strickland of Sikeston; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Parker Road Baptist Church in Florissant.
Services will immediately follow, with Dr. Robert Griffin officiating.
Burial will be at noon Tuesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant.
