MARION ALSIP

COBDEN, Ill. -- Marion Oscar Alsip, 77, of Cobden died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.

He was born May 20, 1920, in Johnson County, son of Austin C. and Tressie May Alsip. He and Betty Morris were married Jan. 27, 1983, in Jonesboro.

Alsip was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Franklin County, and life member of Belleville VFW Post 1739. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Cobden Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home at Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
