PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marilyn J. Kapp, 81, of Perryville passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1939, in St. Louis to John Herman and Helen Theresa Kratoville Kruep. She and James F. Kapp were married Feb. 27, 1960, at St. George Catholic Church in Affton, Missouri. He survives in Perryville.
She was office manager for several businesses.
Marilyn was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the Ladies of Charity and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was actively involved in the establishment of extraordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist, lay lectors and church choirs at several parishes. She enjoyed participating in perpetual adoration and St. Vincent's Food Pantry. Marilyn had a special devotion to the Divine Mercy Chaplet and passed away on Divine Mercy Sunday.
Survivors include her husband, James F. Kapp; six sons, Mark (Kristin) Kapp of Chantilly, Virginia; Dr. David (Michele) Kapp of Perryville; Brian Kapp of Jackson; Gregory (Amy) Kapp of Oakville, Missouri; Kevin (Patricia) Kapp of Auburn Hills, Michigan; and Steven (Angela) Kapp of Cape Girardeau,; two brothers, Raymond (Nancy) Kruep of Fairfax Station, Virginia, and Dennis (Susan) Kruep of St. Louis County; 18 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Seth Kapp; sister, Judith Ann Bradburn; and brother-in-Law, Thomas Bradburn.
Masks are required to attend all services.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., and Joe Geders, C.M., concelebrating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Parish or the charity of your choice.
