Marilyn K. Huttegger, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at her home. She was born July 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Clem H. and Thelma Rose Halter Fornkohl. Marilyn's faith played a major part of her life. Marilyn K. Huttegger, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at her home.

She was born July 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Clem H. and Thelma Rose Halter Fornkohl.

Marilyn's faith played a major part of her life. She was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Potter's Clay. She loved her family, playing cards, reading and cooking for friends and family.

She was a medical secretary for her entire work career, serving at Southeast Hospital and Orthopaedic Associates.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Givens and Pam (Jim "Woody") Woodruff; four grandchildren, Misti (Randy) Valleroy, Chelsea (Jordan) Carver, Will Sellers and Maris Woodruff; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Aedan Easter, Juli Valleroy, Aurora Valleroy, Oliver Carver and Lily Carver; sister, JoAnn (Bill) Oliver; two nephews, Brian Weber and Brad Oliver; great-niece, Kalina Weber; and her "adoptive" daughter, Miho (Ron) Sayles.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juli Huttegger; and stepfather, Alfred J. Halter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, where she will be interned next to her daughter, Juli.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hanover Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
