ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Marilyn V. Haertling, 68, of Altenburg died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 11, 1934, in Altenburg, daughter of Alfred and Natalie Koenig Kasten. She and Milton Haertling were married Feb. 24, 1957.
Haertling was a cook at Tric's Family Restaurant 15 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, Mo., its Fellowship Club, choir, and formerly taught Sunday school.
Survivors include her husband; a son, David Haertling of Frohna, Mo.; a daughter, Debra Martin of Perryville, Mo.; a brother, Gordon Kasten of Altenburg; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after noon Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
