SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Marilyn Joyce Bangert, 81, of Sedgewickville passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 21, 1932, near Sedgewickville, daughter of Herman Henry and Olivia Maria Schnarr Hellman. She and Ervin Walter Bangert were united in marriage Nov. 11, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. He passed away May 6, 1995.
Mrs. Bangert graduated in 1950 from Jackson High School, worked as an office manager for the Klein Nursery and Klein Enterprises, a farmer, a member of the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church and a member of the WELCA Women's Group at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her sons, Clifford E. (Deborah) Bangert of Jackson and James Bangert of Sedgewickville; a daughter, Carole (Stephen) Abernathy of Sedgewickville; sisters, Gloria (Charles) Hanners of Jackson and Bernice Friese of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herman Henry Hellman Jr.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating. Interment will be in the Sedgewickville Lixville Lutheran Cemetery near Sedgewickville.
