DEXTER -- Marie Sliger, 80, of Pana, Ill., died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at Country Care Center in Pana.
She was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Neelyville, daughter of Calvin and Rosie Dell Ozee Farris. She and Herbert Lee Sliger were married Sept. 17, 1931, in Charleston.
Formerly of Morehouse and Bertrand, Sliger had lived in Pana since 1969. She was a member of Pana General Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge at Morehouse.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Farris Sliger of Pana, Fredrick Sliger of Oak Grove, Johnie Sliger of Washington, Ind.; a daughter, Rosemary Ford of Dexter; a sister, Mary Morse of Fulton; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 3-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
